Karel Pravec, commonly known as the Silver Fox, is an internationally renowned Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt, who earned his rank through Renzo Gracie, and is one of Gracie’s very first students in the United States. He was inducted to the New Jersey Martial Arts Hall of Fame in 2017. His continued drive for improvement & his analytical skills keep the Silver Fox BJJ Academy at the forefront of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

Enrique is a 1st degree Black Belt under Karel “Silver Fox” Pravec. Full time Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioner, he has dedicated his life to this martial art. Teaching both adults and kids with the same passion he has for training it.

Joe is a 1st degree Black Belt under Karel Pravec with a B.A. from New York University. Joe started at the old Renzo Gracie Academy in New York City, where he trained with Renzo’s top black belts. For the last 10 years, Joe has taught at Silver Fox with a focus on the fundamental techniques and concepts of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Joe’s passion for Jiu Jitsu goes beyond being a martial art and has become a lifestyle and art form.

Felix has been training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu since 2008. He has been a Black Belt under Karel Pravec since 2017. He started his Jiu Jitsu career in hopes of getting into shape but it grew to a love of the art and competition. Felix holds a degree in Industrial Electronics and Networking.

Roger Borshe is a Black Belt under Karel “Silver Fox” Pravec. He has devoted his life to helping others find their path to being successful. Since 1997, Roger has competed in numerous competitions from grappling to striking. In addition, he taught martial arts to children and adults since the late 1990’s. Roger has worked in the field of Behavioral Health for the last 10+years helping those who struggle with mental illness learn to cope & thrive in the current society.

Sergio started training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in 2009 and is currently a 1st degree Black Belt under Karel Pravec. His love of BJJ comes from the relationships he has forged with his coach and his friends on and off the mat. BJJ has given him a platform to constantly test himself and become a better competitor and coach. Using his experience with wrestling matches and BJJ tournaments, he took his competitive nature to the world of MMA.

Frank is a 1st degree Black Belt under Karel Pravec. Frank has been an instructor for both the adult and kids classes for 8 years. Frank has been a competitor in BJJ and MMA. As of 2020, Frank is running the new Silver Fox East Hanover location.

Frank Camiscioli III has been studying Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu since 2011 under Master Karel Pravec and the other instructors at Silver Fox Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy.  His greatest joy is introducing the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu to new students by teaching introductory classes. In July 2017 Frank received his BJJ Brown Belt from Karel Pravec. Although, now a recreational martial artist, he has won and placed as a competitor. Currently, he is the Operations Manager for the Academy.

Matthew started training Jiu-Jitsu in 2013 and received his blackbelt in December of 2020.  Outside of Jiu-Jitsu, Matthew is a board certified and licensed athletic trainer who has worked with international and professional sports teams with focus on injury prevention and strength training. As an independent contractor for a government human performance lab, he coaches human performance optimization; and has worked with DOE, DIA, DHS, DOJ US Marshals and DoD USSOCOM elements.  Matthew also founded Venator Human Performance.

Teddy Drake is a Brown Belt under Karel “Silver Fox” Pravec. A full time Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioner, he has dedicated his life to this martial art. Teaching with the same passion he has for training. He is also an avid MMA practitioner as well, with a 2nd degree Black Belt in Shotokan Karate.

Jessica is currently a Brown Belt under Karel “Silver Fox” Pravec.  She trained Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu as a youth and after college, in 2015 she returned to the martial art here at the academy. In 2019, she became a youth coach for our Fox Cubs and Junior Foxes. Jessica graduated from SUNY Brockport with a bachelor’s degree in Athletic training and is a certified personal trainer.

Aliya started training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in 2015 and received her brown belt in 2022. After a trial class, she fell in love with the mental and social aspect of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.  Aliya has her degree in Psychology and has been an Early Education Teacher for over 7 years. She has combined her passion of teaching and Jiu Jitsu with instructing the kids’ classes.

Sean Filipowicz has been studying Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu since 2014 under Karel Pravec. After taking his first class, he felt the positive impact it can have on life. After initially using Jiu-Jitsu to refuel the competitive nature development from years of athletics, Sean discovered that his true passion was to help spread the art of Jiu-Jitsu to others . In July 2021, Sean received his Black Belt from Karel Pravec and has been teaching Jiu Jitsu helping students achieve their personal goals. Sean holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Felician University.

Nicole is currently a Black Belt under Karel ” Silver Fox” Pravec since 2022. Nicole started training after her two sons started their Jiu Jitsu journey . Instead of sitting on the sidelines, she decided to join her kids on the mat and continued her training due to her love of the knowledge gained from her instructors. Nicole has started teaching the Fox Cubs classes and continues to share her Jiu Jitsu knowledge to the next generation.

Anthony is currently a Purple Belt under Karel “Silver Fox” Pravec. He began training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in 2011 after being introduced to the art by his older cousin. In 2021 he became a youth coach to our Junior Fox and Fox cubs. Anthony has worked in Public Safety for the past 10+ years as a Nationally Certified 9-1-1 Dispatcher Trainer, Emergency Medical Technician and CPR Instructor.
