What is Required to Compete for the Academy:
First let me start by stating, that only around 10% of BJJ practitioners will ever compete, let alone be a full time competitor. Deciding whether or not to compete is each student’s own personal choice. However, we are here to help guide our students in all of their endeavors, but understand that there are higher standards that must be upheld while representing the academy in competition. It is always a good idea to speak to an instructor when you begin to consider competing. They can give you an idea of what is expected of you, and most importantly what you can expect from competing. That being said, the most important factor regarding competition, is consistent training. This can vary slightly depending on the student and their obligations outside of the academy, but consistent training is absolutely essential.
See you on the mats!
